MITECH KOB - White Universal Adhesive for Thermal Insulation Systems (EPS) - 25kg
MITECH KOB is a white, universal cement‑based adhesive designed for installing foamed polystyrene (EPS) boards and forming the reinforced base coat in jointless thermal‑insulation systems (ETICS). It is part of the MITECH thermal‑insulation system and provides high adhesion, excellent workability and a clean, bright finish ideal for light‑coloured renders.
MITECH KOB is formulated for two core ETICS functions:
- Installing EPS boards onto typical mineral substrates.
- Embedding glass‑fibre reinforcement mesh to create a durable base coat.
Its white colour improves visual control during application and supports a uniform substrate for thin‑coat renders and façade paints, especially in light shades. The adhesive is microfibre‑reinforced, enhancing strength, crack resistance and stability across the façade.
Consumption:
- When binding styrofoam: ~4.0-5.0 kg/m2
- Completion of the reinforced layer: ~3.5-4.0 kg/m2
CHARACTERISTICS
- High adhesion to EPS and mineral substrates for secure bonding.
- Microfibre reinforcement for improved mechanical strength and crack resistance.
- Dual‑function adhesive — suitable for both fixing EPS and embedding mesh.
- White colour ideal for light renders and paints, improving final façade aesthetics.
- Easy application with good workability and approx. 2‑hour usability time.
- Part of the MITECH ETICS system ensuring compatibility and system performance.
APPLICATION
- EPS board installation in external wall insulation systems.
- Reinforced base‑coat formation with glass‑fibre mesh.
- Levelling mineral substrates prior to thin‑coat renders or façade paints.
- Thermal‑renovation works using MITECH jointless insulation technology.
MITECH KOB combines versatility, high adhesion, and microfibre‑reinforced durability, reducing the number of products needed on site. Its white colour ensures a clean, uniform base for finishing coats, making it a preferred choice for light‑coloured façades and high‑quality ETICS installations.
