Ceresit CN94 Concentrate - Universal Primer for Substrate Preparation - 5kg
Ceresit CN94 is a high-performance, solvent-free universal primer specifically formulated for the preparation of various absorbent and non-absorbent substrates prior to the application of flooring compounds, adhesives, levelling screeds, or waterproofing membranes. Designed to significantly improve adhesion and ensure a consistent, reliable bond, CN94 is an indispensable component in achieving durable and professional flooring and wall finishes. Ceresit CN94 primer is supplied as a concentrate, offering the flexibility to be diluted with water to suit the specific absorbency of the substrate, thereby optimising coverage and performance. It effectively penetrates porous surfaces, binding loose particles, reducing dust, and regulating the absorbency of the substrate, which prevents rapid moisture withdrawal from subsequently applied materials. For non-absorbent surfaces, it forms a well-adhering film that creates a bonding bridge. Ceresit CN94 Concentrate is quick-drying, allowing for efficient project timelines. It is suitable for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications, including concrete, cement screeds, anhydrite screeds, old tile coverings, existing adhesive residues, and various timber-based substrates. Its advanced formulation ensures high bond strength, contributing to the longevity and stability of the entire flooring or tiling system.
Assumed consumption: 0.03 to 0.12 kg/m2, depending on the application
PROPERTIES
- High-performance, solvent-free universal primer.
- Supplied as a concentrate, requiring dilution with water.
- Formulated for the preparation of various substrates prior to:
- Application of flooring compounds.
- Adhesives.
- Levelling screeds.
- Waterproofing membranes.
- Significantly enhances the bond strength of subsequent materials.
- Strengthens weak or dusty surfaces.
- Minimises dust generation from the substrate.
- Prevents rapid moisture withdrawal from subsequently applied materials on porous surfaces.
- Forms a well-adhering film on non-absorbent surfaces to promote bonding.
- Quick-drying, allowing for efficient project timelines.
- Ensures a consistent, reliable bond and contributes to the longevity and stability of the entire flooring or tiling system.
APPLICATION
- Can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications.
- Suitable for a wide range of substrates, such as concrete, cement screeds, anhydrite screeds, old tile coverings, existing adhesive residues, various timber-based substrates
How to Use
- The substrate must be completely clean, dry, sound, and free from any dust, dirt, grease, oil, loose particles, old paints, or weak layers.
- Brush or vacuum away all loose material.
- Remove any grease, oil, or chemical contamination using appropriate degreasers.
- If applying over old tile coverings or firmly bonded adhesive residues, ensure they are thoroughly cleaned and degreased. Loose or hollow tiles should be removed and the substrate repaired.
- Fill any large cracks, holes, or significant unevenness in the substrate with a suitable repair mortar before priming.
- The dilution ratio varies significantly based on the absorbency of the substrate.
- Pour the required amount of clean, cold water into a clean mixing bucket.
- Slowly add the measured amount of Ceresit CN94 Concentrate to the water.
- Stir thoroughly with a clean stirrer until a homogenous mixture is achieved.
- Apply the diluted primer using a roller, brush, or broom (a soft broom is often good for larger floor areas). Ensure even coverage.
- Apply a thin, even coat over the entire surface. Avoid puddling, especially on absorbent surfaces, as this can lead to over-priming and potential issues with subsequent layers.
- For very highly absorbent or very dusty substrates, a second coat of the same dilution may be necessary after the first coat has dried to a non-tacky film.
- Coverage rates will vary significantly depending on the dilution ratio and the absorbency/texture of the substrate.
- Refer to the product's technical data sheet for approximate coverage rates per litre of concentrate.
