Welded Masonry Joist Hanger 132 x 150mm

132mm x 150mm Welded Masonry Joist Holder is designed to provide sturdy support for 150mm high timber joists. The joist holder's actual height is 140mm, and the flange is integrated into brick or block walls. It has a minimum crushing strength of 3.5N/mm. The Welded Masonry Joist Holder is also suitable for various timber-to-timber and timber-to-steel applications, where the masonry flange is securely attached to the timber or steel beams using appropriate fixings.

Installation of 132x150mm Welded Masonry Joist Holder:

• Position the back plate of the holder flush against the vertical masonry.
• Ensure the masonry flange is securely positioned, avoiding dry slots.
• Maintain at least 3 courses (675mm masonry) above the masonry flange.
• Use the correct strength mortar as per British Standard.
• Allow both supporting and above masonry to set before applying loads.
• Cut joists square and snugly fit against the back of the holder - max 6mm gap.
• Nail side flanges with 30 x 3.75mm galvanized square twist nails or equivalent.
• Utilize HD Straps for lateral restraint.
• Use suitable corrosion-resistant fixings; avoid mixing galvanized and stainless steel fixings.
