Owatrol Prepdeck – 3in1 Stripper, Cleaner, Millglaze Remover

Owatrol Prepdeck – 3-in-1 Stripper, Cleaner and Mill Glaze Remover is a multifunctional, water-based professional product designed for exterior wood. It removes existing coatings such as stains and acrylic paints, effectively eliminates mill glaze on new timber, and restores the surface by stripping dirt and stubborn contamination. Used undiluted, PREPDECK opens the pores of hardwoods to improve penetration of finishing products. When diluted with water, it becomes a powerful cleaning agent suitable for facades, terraces and garden furniture.

• Suitable for hardwoods except oak, walnut, cedar and marquetry

Before Application

• Ensure surfaces are clean and dry
• Remove old flaking coatings and fungal growths
• Protect nearby surfaces and vegetation
• Conduct a test in an inconspicuous area
• Use protective clothing and follow safety recommendations

Important

• Do not allow PREPDECK to dry on the surface – mist with water if necessary
• Neutralisation with Owatrol NET-TROL is essential; untreated wood will darken and fail to accept a preservative

• For work on oak or walnut, seek advice before use
• For TROPITECH “all-in-one”, neutralise using a 1:3 mixture of water and household bleach instead

How to Use

• Stir well before use
• Work from bottom to top in sections, allowing 15–30 minutes per application
• For stripping coatings: use undiluted
• To reduce mill glaze: dilute 1:4 with water (for Ipe use 1:1)
• For cleaning: dilute 1:5 (maximum recommended dilution 1:20)
• After rinsing with water, always neutralise with NET-TROL
• Allow 2–3 days for surfaces to dry fully before further treatment

Performance

• Undiluted: 3–4 m²/l
• Dilution 1:1 → approx. 8 m²/l
• Dilution 1:4 → approx. 16 m²/l
• Dilution 1:10 → up to 40 m²/l

Application Conditions & Tools

• Apply between +5°C and +35°C
• Use a synthetic bristle brush, roller, nylon brush or garden sprayer
• Classed as a hazardous product – follow all safety guidelines
