Owatrol D1 PRO Wood Saturating Oil with UV Protection

Owatrol D1 PRO – Wood Saturating Oil with UV Protection is a high-performance, penetrating oil designed for hardwood and exotic timber species. Enriched with additional UV-resistant particles, it deeply saturates the wood to replenish lost natural oils, stabilise the structure and enhance durability. D1 PRO leaves no surface film, will not peel, and brings out the natural beauty of the timber. Suitable for both interior and exterior use on items such as decking, façades, doors, windows, stairs, garden furniture, fences and wooden roof tiles.

Before Application

• Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from mould or old coatings
• For mould/fungus, use a 50/50 water and household bleach solution
• Allow wood to dry for 2–3 days (max. moisture content 18%)
• Perform a test in an inconspicuous area
• Protect surfaces adjacent to the work area
• Choose dry weather for at least 24 hours after application

Preparation Guidelines

• Fresh wood: Remove mill glaze with AQUANETT, then neutralise with NET-TROL; season Padouk, Iroko or Azobe for at least 12 months
• Seasoned wood: If over 12 months old, neutralise with NET-TROL; if very dirty, use AQUANETT first then NET-TROL
• Other oils/sealants: Strip with AQUANETT and neutralise with NET-TROL
• Oil/alkyd paints: Remove with DILUNETT, then NET-TROL
• Acrylic paints: Fully strip with PREPDECK and neutralise with NET-TROL
• Polyurethane/Epoxy: Use CDKP90 and neutralise with acetone

How to Use

• Stir thoroughly before and during use
• Apply using the “wet-on-wet” method
• Apply a generous first coat in the direction of the grain
• After approx. 15 minutes (or once absorbed), apply additional coats
• Continue application until the wood no longer absorbs oil
• Do not allow the surface to dry between coats

Drying Time

• Approx. 24 hours at 20°C
• 1–3 days stabilisation before use or foot traffic

Performance

• Initial saturation: 1–4 m²/l
• Maintenance applications: 8–12 m²/l

Application Conditions & Tools

• Apply between +5°C and +35°C
• Use a synthetic bristle brush or roller
• Clean tools immediately with white spirit
