Owatrol Saturator for all types of Aquadecks wood

Owatrol Saturator for All Types of Wood – Aquadecks is a water-based acrylic-alkyd saturator that provides a durable matt finish with excellent protective performance. Suitable for both softwood and hardwood, including exotic species, AQUADECKS reduces moisture- and UV-related deterioration, helping to prevent shrinkage, cracking and surface damage. It can be applied to all vertical and horizontal wooden surfaces and penetrates deeply to extend long-term protection, while remaining environmentally safe.

Important Information

• Use without dilution
• Apply only to bare, clean wood free from coatings
• Thorough preparation may include sanding with 80-grit paper
• Remove mould or mildew using a 50/50 bleach solution, then rinse and allow to dry until wood moisture content is below 18%
• Avoid application on hot surfaces or in direct sunlight
• Recommended application temperature: 10°C – 30°C
• Do not stop painting midway through a section
• On vertical surfaces, apply from bottom to top
• Use “wet-on-wet” technique; do not allow drying between coats
• When spraying, back-roll for better penetration

How to Use

• New wood: Remove mill glaze using AQUANETT and neutralise with NET-TROL, or sand with 80-grit. Test readiness by sprinkling with water – if absorbed quickly, wood is ready.
• Seasoned, untreated wood: Clean thoroughly with NET-TROL.
• Previously oiled wood: Remove oils with AQUANETT and neutralise with NET-TROL.
• Stains, varnishes and paints: Remove with DILUNETT and neutralise with NET-TROL.
• Tannins in hardwood may cause darkening after cleaning; use NET-TROL to restore natural colour.
• Mix well before and during application.
• Apply two wet-on-wet coats; the first should be generous for deep penetration.
• Apply the second coat after 15–20 minutes; allow full absorption.
• A third coat may be required on porous surfaces.
• Final surface should not form a film; total working time per batch is approx. 20 minutes.

• Temperature: +10°C to +30°C
• Theoretical coverage: 5 m²/l for two coats
• Maintenance coverage: 10–12 m²/l
• Actual coverage depends on wood type, condition and application method

Tools

• Brush with synthetic bristles, synthetic roller or spray application
• Clean tools with water and soap
