Ceresit CT190 Adhesive and Reinforcing Mortar

Ceresit CT190 Adhesive and Reinforcing Mortar is an element of the Ceresit Ceretherm ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems) for use with mineral wool insulation. It is a cement-based adhesive and reinforcing mortar designed for bonding and embedding mineral wool insulation slabs onto exterior walls. Ceresit CT190 provides a strong, durable bond between the insulation and the wall substrate, as well as a reinforced base coat for the application of finishing renders or coatings. Ceresit CT190 is a versatile product that helps to improve the thermal efficiency and weatherproofing of buildings as part of the Ceresit Ceretherm external wall insulation system.

How to apply

Fixing mineral wool boards

• Prepare the substrate by ensuring it is clean, dry, and free from any loose particles or contaminants
• Mix the CT190 mortar with clean water according to the manufacturer's instructions to achieve the desired consistency
• Apply the mortar to the back of the mineral wool board using a notched trowel, covering the entire surface
• Immediately press the board firmly onto the substrate, ensuring full contact
• Secure the boards in place and maintain pressure until the mortar has set

Armoured layer application

• After the mineral wool boards have been fixed, apply a layer of CT190 mortar over the entire surface using a notched trowel
• Embed a reinforcing mesh, such as fibreglass mesh, into the wet mortar, ensuring it is fully covered and there are no air pockets
• Allow the mortar to dry completely before applying any finishing coats or renders

• Ceresit CT190 is CE marked in accordance with the requirements of EN 998-1 for Rendering and Plastering Mortars.
• Ceresit CT190 is certified as part of the Ceresit Ceretherm ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems) in accordance with the ETAG 004 European Technical Guideline.
• Ceresit CT190 is certified to have low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), meeting the requirements of various environmental labelling schemes.
